Writing for Children... tips from the expert! 10 September 2014, 10.30-3pm

on Tuesday, 09 September 2014.

We are lucky to have a children's author with us as Writer in Residence on Wednesday 10 Septemeber 2014.

Martin Coleman is a published author of humorous children’s stories. His books are listed among Waterstones ‘Top Rated Products’, are endorsed by eighteen celebrities and media figures and he is soon to be published in a book of short stories along with four other authors, including British novelist Anthony Horowitz and former poet laureate, Sir Andrew Motion. Join Martin as he spends the day in the archives and expertly rewrites the 16th Century story Sir William Sharington and the Lacock pardon.

Whilst working on his story Martin will be more than happy to answer your questions, talk about his journey as an author and give encouragement and advice.

Feel free to call in at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre on Wednesday 10th September between 10.30am-3pm to meet Martin, ask questions, get inspired and have a go at writing something yourself.

Future Writers in Residence sessions have been planned for 4th October, 4th November, 5th December and 22nd January, details to follow.
