Another Way of Keeping in Touch!

on Friday, 30 January 2015.

We have recently created a new Facebook page which will be regularly updated with news, features, and behind the scenes snippets.

‘Like’ our page to see beautiful items like this c.1830 hand-decorated, thin pierced-bone Christmas card, and unexpected finds such as this print by Clodagh Sparrow (artist who created advertising posters for London, Midland and Scottish, Southern Electric, and London Transport railways companies during the 1930s and 1940s).

Help us identify or find out more about mystery items such as this parish recipe book, which we came across during cataloguing work, but which has no date or information other than the names credited to each recipe.

We also post regular features such as ‘The Times This Week’ using local newspapers to reveal what was happening in Wiltshire 100 years ago. Some wonderful stories have been revealed like that of a Corsham guardsman thrilling escape through German lines with the brave help of strangers, published in the Wiltshire Times Saturday December 12th 1914.

It’s a great place for you to get in touch, share your research, and ask us questions!
