Teachers can make a visit to the History Centre to research and copy local studies materials or you can order one of our local studies resource packs.  Each pack contains materials from the History Centre based on the area and period of your choice (within Wiltshire and Swindon). The following sources are available:

  • historic and OS maps until 1950s
  • local newspapers
  • historic and aerial photographs
  • census returns
  • court records
  • poor law records
  • school admission registers and log books


Prices from £25+VAT and p+p for a basic pack requiring only photocopies.
Photographs, old, large and fragile documents will be scanned, additional charges apply
