Congratulations Castle Combe Museum! [edit]
In October 2009 Castle Combe Museum was awarded Accredited status by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.

This is an excellent achievement for the volunteers who run the museum and means they are meeting nationally agreed standards for how a good museum should be operated. This is the same standard that all museums across the country work to so is a great success for Castle Combe. To continue, please 'read more'...

One of the key areas of activity for the Museums Advisory Service here at the History Centre is to work with museums towards achieving and maintaining high standards. Accredited Museum status is not awarded lightly and I am pleased to say that Castle Combe now joins 16 other museums in Wiltshire who have achieved or are working towards the accreditation standard.
The museum in Castle Combe is open from Easter to October on Sundays and Bank Holidays from 2pm to 5pm.
However if you can’t wait until then you can visit the museum website at
