Renaissance Award Wiltshire Museums Advisory Service £15000 Grant

Posted by: Blog Administrator

We are pleased to be able to report that Wiltshire Council Museums Advisory Service has been successful in obtaining £15,000 from the South West Hub Museum Development Fund.

The money is for a project which we have entitled 'Photographing Wiltshire's Treasures'. This will be a partnership between New College Swindon, The Museums Advisory Service and a number of museums in the county. Photography students from the college will come to the partner museums on pre-arranged visits with equipment to take high quality photographs of objects from museum collections.

The resulting photographs will be uploaded to Wiltshire Treasures www.wiltshiretreasures.org resulting in increased access to collections. At the end of the project an exhibition of the work done will be created by the students and hopefully toured around several sites in the region.

This is an excellent opportunity to show off what treasures reside in Wiltshire's museums.
